“Beauty of style and harmony and grace and good rhythm depend on simplicity” Plato.
According to Plato’s motto, it will not be too ambitious saying it is simplifying the success of the surgical treatments. Minimally invasive and endoscopic surgeries successful results on failed back syndromes, simple surgical drainage even on severe diskitis instead of complicated surgical operations, percutaneous endoscopic posterior cervical applications, the contralateral endoscopic approaches are just a few of them… With referring to ISMISS guide, MISS term means causing less traumas.
The Fourth ISMISS Turkey Congress continues his mission on Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery with the world’s most advanced authorities involvement on 2011 as well. It has been imminent to prefer Endoscopic surgery when asked for less traumatic ways in today’s applications. Through the HD camera systems which increase the ability of human perception in multiple times, the possibilities of recording, archiving and classifying, with or without various navigation-robotic assisted or targeting systems, it has been possible to identify the disk and foramen endoscopic lesions and treatments. Today on Spine problems, as in joint surgery, beside macroscopic or microscopic examinations the necessity of examining without bleeding using natural gas or liquid has to be indicated to observe unattended condition to identify the pathology of the tissues. In this case, new solutions on surgery will be available in the mentor of endoscopy
ISMISS meetings have been organized in the idea of surgical approaches with the multidisciplinary approaches, with encouraging the team works, highlighting the philosophy of algorithmic treatment at a scientific platform in a harmony.
As each year, while continuing to point out the innovative studies on minimal invasive surgery, the approved based studies will be encouraged this period. We reiterated the principle ‘Primum nil nocere’ (Never harm) on MISS which first appeared besides the traditional surgery and now replaced at the front.
We invite our colleagues to an academic festive on our scientific platform.
