Minimally Invasive and Spinal Surgery requires multidisciplinary teamwork unlike many other specialized medical practices. That is primarily why major clinics worldwide thanks their outstanding performance to a diverse range of specialties working in harmony within the same organization. In this perspective the 1st ISMISS TURKEY conference 2008 successfully gathered four different disciplines and is intended to pursue this same mission forward. ISMISS TURKEY shall be discussion platform merging different approaches to minimally invasive procedures presented several international participants together with attendess from region.
It was interesting to analyse and assess certain robotic surgery studies during the 1st ISMISS TURKEY conference. Two of these studies received awards of merit highlighting the significance of computer assisted and robotic applications in Minimally Invasive surgery. So one focus of the upcoming 2nd ISMISS TURKEY will be the actual role of robotic and computer assisted surgery in Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery, including also respective workshops and panels.
We presume that Istanbul offers an ideal location to host this year’s Conference which will gather four Multidisciplinary Associations on the crossroads of two great continents.
Looking forward to building our common mission with new initiatives in this upcoming and future conferences.
